Jan coordinated the showing of the Jesusfilm in Plastic View. The Jesusfilm was shown in 3 different languages. We are thankful for the gospel of Jesus Christ reaching people in their own language.

Every Friday Jan is part of the outreach to Plastic View where outreach and discipleship is taking place. Jan assists with difficult questions and Bible explanation.

Prayer Group for 2024 at Menlopark Highschool

Our Praise and Worship event for parents is becoming a yearly event at Menlopark Highschool. It was held during the Jesus week at the school and what a lovely way to involve the parents of our school. It was a wonderful morning of praying together and worshipping the Lord. 

We had the wonderful opportunity to welcome our new principal and pray for him. 

Jadyn and Elize-Marie sang The Blessing to the principal, and it turned out to be a very special song to him. We had a blessed time together and thank the Lord for a God-fearing man!

We also prepared a special gift for the principal and his family.

Isaiah 11:2
2 The Spirit of the Lord will rest on him – the Spirit of wisdom and of understanding, the Spirit of counsel and of might, the Spirit of the knowledge and fear of the Lord –
and he will delight in the fear of the Lord.

The lovely mom’s from Menlo’s Prayer Group came together under the leadership of Elize-Marie to organize a heart-warming soup invitation to our 150 teachers. 

It was a cold day and much appreciated by the teachers and personnel. We had 13 different kinds of soup. What a way to spend Ascension Day!

Once a quarter we just get together and pray for one another over a cuppa. It remains a blessing to be involved with these wonderful women!

One of our school families lost everything in a destructive fire.

Care packages of love

We packed a few Care packages this year for children that lost their parents, as well as for a family who has lost everything in destructive fire.

The first Youth Fest held at Menlopark Highschool.

We are so thankful to our Father for this breakthrough!! Our Prayer group was actively involved in praying and prayer walking to prepare for the event.

City Prayers Connect

We received 120 women from School prayer groups all over Pretoria and Kemptonpark for our City school Prayer event. It was a great privilege to be able to host this event at Menlopark High School

We heard the powerful testimony of one of our Menlo-moms whose daughter suffered from anorexia. She started school during the Covid-19 epidemic and she was so underweight that she could not attend school. We prayed for her for a long period of time and now we can see and hear the healing that our Saviour has done in their lives. All glory and honour to Jesus!

BELA Bill

Part of our responsibilities as parents are to stand up for Educational rights in South Africa. Not only for our children, but for the next generation. The BELA Bill is a controversial theme in education and it is important to exercise our democratic right towards the Bill drafting process.

Jadyn as an ex-matriculant delivered her 3 minute speech on why she does not agree with the bill. I also submitted written objections to Provincial Government to disagree with the bill.

Let us keep praying that the Lord will rise up officials in Government to stand up against the bill.

Our Prayer group also participated prayingly in the Bela Bill March that took place on 5 November at the Voortrekker Monument. Although this was a political driven event, we participated prayerfully and peacefully.

Teaching

The first semester of the year we had the opportunity to present the Alpha Course to a cell group and a few interested individuals.

The Alpha – Holy Spirit – weekend was a blessed experience and we thank God for new things that he revealed to His children.

Corporate Biblestudy

Jan leads a weekly Biblestudy at a Company to minister to their personnel.

Jan presents Bible studies with the aim to explain the texts in the correct Biblical context and and trueful to God’s Word

Jan is fascilitating the prayer gatherings for the outreach workers pray and plan together for Plastic View.

Serving the Church

We as a family assisted at the Biblical Passover Meal served at Moreleta Kerk.

Children Ministry at Moreleta Connect

The past year we have received 120+ children from Plastic View Informal Settlement. We are thankful for what the kids have learned through the Bible lessons and we trust that God will let them grow.

Our amazing Women Ministry made scarfs and beannies for all the kids to stay warm in the winter

Elize-Marié is co-ordinating the Kids Ministry Volunteers, helps to arrange the lesson schedule and all the print outs and items needed for the lessons.

This year we had the opportunity to involve the beautiful women from the Plastic View discipleship groups to minister to the children. These women had been discipled for 3 years and now have the opportunity to give back to their community in teaching the next generation

Training for Kids Ministry

We are thankful for 11 Ladies attending the Kids Training. It was a special morning and the Ladies learnt so much. It is amazing to see how they are applying what they have learned during the Children’s Church.

 We showed the Jesus Film for Kids at the Kids Ministry.

Kids Ministry

We concluded our Kids ministry for the year with a packet of goodies for every child with snacks, school supplies, a toy and colouring book. The Kids were so thankful for the gift.

Moreleta Connect hosted a Ladies Tea on 5 October.

Elize-Marie organized all the arrangements to set the stage for a beautiful Ladies Tea with the theme: I have the seen the Lord.

Jadyn sang a beautiful song “The God who sees” at the Ladies Tea. What made the Ladies Tea special is that we had 26 women from Plastic View Informal Settlement attending the event. An opportunity for these precious women to feel special and loved.

Jan and Kaniel assist with the sermon recordings every week as well as the rendering and upload of the sermons. They are working hard every week to render quality videos of the sermons

Concert held in Revive Cafe @ Moreleta Church. This was also an amazing ministry opportunity.

Our annual end of the year concert with Respiro Studios in the Centurion Theatre, is always a spectacular event.
